After a long wait of many months, Star Wars has finally confirmed that work on Ahsoka season 2 has begun. The Ahsoka Disney+ TV show, which stars Rosario Dawson as the real-life Ahsoka Tano, is about her journey to stop Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) from coming back. The size of the show has been absolutely amazing, with its heroes going to another galaxy on the path to Peridea.
Star Wars is building up to an epic movie set in the time of The Mandalorian, which will be directed by Dave Filoni. Ahsoka is the next step in an even more exciting journey. Grand Admiral Thrawn has already been confirmed as the main bad guy in this movie. This means that the actors who play Ahsoka will have a bright future. Star Wars has now formally confirmed Ahsoka season 2 after months of anticipation.
Ahsoka Season 2 Is Currently In Development
Fans, cast, and crew of the Star Wars TV show have been pushing for Ahsoka season 2 for many months now that the show has ended. Star Wars has now officially announced that the next part of the story is being written. This proof was first given along with the news of the Mandalorian and Grogu movie. Later, Star Wars shared Filoni’s concept art for Ahsoka season 2 to show how far along the project is. Since this project is still being worked on, no production plans or estimates have been given yet. However, Ahsoka season 2 will come out before Filoni’s culmination movie.
It’s likely that production on Ahsoka season 2 will begin after filming on The Mandalorian and Grogu is over. This is because both projects use the Volume technology and would have to fight for the space and the creatives who work on them. Since The Mandalorian & Grogu starts filming later this year, it’s possible that Ahsoka season 2 will start filming in early or late 2025. Still, its current stage of growth is very exciting, since it wasn’t known before.
The Cast & Crew Of Ahsoka Are Excited For Season 2
No one has been more excited about Ahsoka season 2 than Ahsoka Tano herself. Dawson started campaigning for an Ahsoka season two months before the first season came out, hoping to make the show continue after being cast in the part. In April, at Star Wars Celebration Europe, Dawson said she wanted to keep being on the big stage. The actress told the thousands of fans that were there that the show might get a second season if Ahsoka’s first run does well. She said the same thing in several interviews. Her predictions have already come true, and on the day of the announcement, she enthusiastically announced on Instagram that Ahsoka season 2 has been confirmed.
Eman Esfandi (Ezra Bridger) and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren) are two other cast members who have talked about how excited they are for Ahsoka season 2 on social media. Without a question, Ahsoka will have a big part in Filoni’s The Mandalorian ending movie. It looks like he’s been pushing for another season to give himself more room to tell his story. Every member of the cast and crew has said great things about the stories and how professional everyone was on set, which makes their upcoming return even more exciting.
When Will Ahsoka Season 2 Release?
It will probably be some time before Ahsoka season 2 airs. It took Filoni until the end of last year to write any scripts for Ahsoka season 2. This was because of the Hollywood strikes. It takes a few months to do the pre-production work, which adds even more time to the wait for Ahsoka season 2. For another round of Ahsoka, it would be at least two years after the first one, because of the months it takes to film and edit.
Things are even more difficult because some of the actors from Ahsoka might be in The Mandalorian and Grogu, which would make them less available. Filoni will also be working as an executive director on The Mandalorian and Grogu with Jon Favreau, which will take up some of his own time. This will make it harder to plan and carry out Ahsoka season 2, but it’s not impossible. It could, however, cause more delays, so Star Wars fans might not be able to see it until at least the end of 2025.
